Code of Conduct

Bayridge is a place where students are expected to:

	Take pride in their school and community
	Treat others as they would like to be treated
	Be committed to positive things
	Accept teacher authority and respect the rules of the classroom
	Respect school property
	Interact with cooperation, courtesy and consideration
	Be punctual and attend school daily (legitimate circumstance considered)
	Encourage each other to make positive choices
	Respect the rights and property of others
	Use appropriate language
	Take other people's feelings into consideration
	Speak respectfully to people of all ages
	Use common sense
	Be responsible for their actions and accept the consequence of their behaviour

At Bayridge there are:

	No play fights or real fights
	No drugs or cigarettes
	No weapons or replicas of weapons
	No bullies, threats, intimidation, harassment or swearing
	No items or objects potentially harmful to self or others, such as matches or lighters

Clothing Expectations

At Bayridge Elementary we want to create a wholesome atmosphere where children can be children without the pressures of "hurry up and be young adults". We want to see clothing worn that will ensure the physical and personal safety of all students. School administration, staff and PAC endorse the following clothing expectations for all students.

All Students

	Dress appropriately for the weather
	Make sure footwear is safe and appropriate for the activities at an elementary school. eg: shoelaces done up, no high heels or high platform shoes, pants not dragging on the ground.
	No underwear should be showing
	No clothing with offensive or inappropriate language/images

Boys

	All of the above
	No hats worn in school

Girls

	All of the above
	No spaghetti straps (tank tops okay)
	No bare midriffs or backs (tops should be long enough to cover stomach and back when student is standing or sitting)
	No low cut tops
	No short shorts
	Make-up is discouraged. Minimal make-up (lip-gloss or mascara) is acceptable only at the upper-intermediate level
	No make up is to be applied at school

This code of conduct applies to all Bayridge students while at school, going to and from school and at all school-sponsored functions
